WireScreen Launches Chinese Patent Intelligence Dataset, Adding 37 Million Records to Its Platform

NEW YORK, NY — March 4, 2026 — WireScreen, the premier China-focused risk intelligence platform, today announced the launch of its Chinese Patent Intelligence dataset, integrating 37 million patent records spanning approximately one million companies, universities, and research institutes directly into the WireScreen platform.

Patents are among the clearest indicators of technological capability, research collaboration, and strategic intent. Yet patent data has often been siloed from corporate ownership records and risk workflows, making it difficult to connect R&D activity to ownership structures, investment networks, and risk exposure.

WireScreen’s patent integration closes that gap. Patent publication counts now appear directly on entity profiles, providing instant visibility into an organization’s innovation footprint, with links to a dedicated Patent Screener for filtering across key dimensions. Users can drill into individual patent records to view assignees, inventors, abstracts, classifications, and key filing and publication dates.

A central challenge in patent intelligence is accurately matching filings to the correct legal entities across complex and frequently changing corporate structures. Chinese companies often operate through layered subsidiaries, name variations, restructurings, and state-linked research partnerships. WireScreen addresses this challenge by embedding patent data directly into its entity graph, resolving filings to verified legal entities and their ownership networks.

Users can map R&D relationships across subsidiaries and research institutes, identify clusters of activity in strategically sensitive sectors, and evaluate patterns of technological investment at scale. Analysts can now answer two core investigative questions: who is connected to whom, and what technologies are being prioritized.“Patent activity is one of the clearest signals of technological direction and collaboration,” said David Barboza, CEO of WireScreen. “By linking patents to companies, research institutions, and, soon, individual inventors, we’re giving users a more complete picture of how innovation, capital, and control intersect.”

This launch marks a significant step forward in integrating high-signal R&D intelligence into corporate, national security, and regulatory risk analysis, enabling faster assessment of technological exposure, dual-use research activity, and strategic capability development across China’s complex business landscape.
